Moving Weekend!

Well this last weekend we moved from our townhome in Dallas to Arlington with Nick's parents. It was very bittersweet. We really loved our first home together and will always remember it. It was sad to say goodbye. So far living in Arlington has been great. I think Nick's parents have really tried to make it special. I don't quite feel like I live there, but more like I am on vacation and will go back to our place soon.

I tried to take some pics of our place so that we can remember it. The sad part was that everything was already packed so you couldn't get a good feel for how it looked decorated.

Our Last Supper!
For our last meal in our townhome we ordered Cole Vines Pizza and had a bottle of wine. We had to eat at our coffee table because we sent our kitchen table to Arlington already. It was perfect!

Mom Slacking on the Job!

On Saturday my parents and Nick's parents along with great movers all showed up to help us move. We really could not have done it with out all of their help. Mom and Connie were really great about getting in there and packing up the rest of the stuff while the guys loaded their trucks to make trips to storage and Arlington. Around 4pm we finished loading and headed to Arlington leaving our place for the last time. Nick's birthday was also this weekend so after we were done moving, Nick's parents had all of us stay for dinner including my parents and Cara. We grilled out steaks, chicken and shrimp and we all hung around the pool and enjoyed the evening. There was even a firefly sighting.

Whirlwind Weekend!

The weekend of May 15th-17th was so fun and jam packed with weddings galore. Friday was our good friend Jenny O's wedding in Dallas and then we had another wedding Saturday night in Austin for a high school friend of Nick's. Needless to say with so many things going on in one weekend Nick and I experienced moments of craziness.

For the first time . . . Jenny and Brian McGhee!
It was such a special night and Jenny looked gorgeous!
The Losada Girls!
I did get asked at one point in the weekend if Connie was my mom.

Saturday morning after the wedding Drew invited us all over for "Grunch" a term we coined from our ski trip in Aspen. It's a Ghetto Brunch, but really the only thing Ghetto is the music.

Drew had Chicken and Waffles, Buscuits and Gravy, Cheese and fruit as well as Mimosas and Bloody Mary's. Yum! I brought a Breakfast casserole too.

The food was so awesome and we were stuffed!
It was time for us to hit the road and head down to Austin for wedding #2. Up until this point in the morning we had already taken my car into the dealership to have them fix my tint that they ruined during a routine car wash on Friday, make a breakfast casserole, pack for Austin and have brunch at Drews. On top of that I was still feeling a little off from the night before. So we get in the car and start our road trip in the pouring down rain. We were about 45 minutes out of Dallas when Nick asks me if I grabbed our hanging bag with the clothes. I laughed because he does this to me where he asks, but really he grabbed the bag. Well not this time. . .We had to turn around and drive 45 minutes back to Dallas (in silence). At this point I was so defeated and done with the whole situation. I really didn't think we would make it to Austin and get ready for the wedding in time. As you can see from the above pic I had not showered yet. Nick was determined to make it to Austin so we get back to our place, he showers and I do my makeup and salvage my day old hair. We jumped back in the car and started the trip again, still raining but with clothes this time. We made great time and got to the hotel in time to throw on clothes and head to the wedding. When we get to the wedding we actually find out that it has been postponed for an hour because the bride had a stomach virus and had been sick all day. After hearing that it really put my day in perspecitve and I felt really terrible for her.

The wedding went on and the bride was a tropper. On top of her being sick it had also rained all day so her outside wedding had to be relocated inside. I couldn't believe how weird this day had been and how nothing had been going right for anyone.

PS- I did wear the same dress for both weddings. Don't Judge!

We still had a good time and hung out with great friends.

I thought I would add some pics of the before and what we are hoping will be the after.
Here is a pic of our "dirt". Kind of boring right now. I am starting to get impatient and ready to see some action! We have the house plans done, but now we are waiting to get them approved by the city. We are thinking we will be able to break ground by the 1st of July.

This is a pic of another house in the area that we are modeling ours after. We are building in a conservation area so you only have 3 styles of house to choose from (Tudor, Craftsmen and Prarie) We chose the Tudor style which is above. What I like about the neighborhood is that even the new homes look old which I think keeps the charm of the neighborhood. All of the houses are really cute.
